The Beehive pub in Cheltenham’s Montpellier district is celebrating its 175th birthday this year. To commemorate this significant milestone The Beehive is turning back the clock to 1837, which is the first official documented mention of the Beehive as a pub.

In this year the first ever successful parachute landing on British soil was made by Mademoiselle Jennie, a chimpanzee owned by a local resident. To celebrate this historic feat a drinks reception was held at The Beehive, thus establishing our reputation for spectacular events.

“We have hosted a number of events over the years” said the pub’s landlord Matt Walker “but this one has a very special significance and we are sure that it will be the best one yet”

This event, over the course of the Easter weekend, 6th – 9th April, will feature a magnificent Victorian themed seven course banquet on the evening of 7th April, ten craft ales synonymous with this era and all the staff will be in Victorian fancy dress. No chimpanzees will be harmed during the course of this event! Find out more about the Beehive at http://www.thebeehivemontpellier.com/
