This is an area of dry stone walls, historic buildings, open skies, rolling grassland, beech woods and captivating villages. all of which make it a unique and very special English landscape. The Board have many areas of interest, including conservation issues and preserving living country traditions such as hedge laying and stone walling, making the area more accessible by public transport, promoting walks (led by experienced Cotswold wardens), raising the profile of the area, and publishing a range of interesting and user - friendly publications. There are brochures on biodiversity, the historic landscape, renewable energy, farming, walks, transport and more.
Their paper "The Cotswold Lion" (named after the native breed of Cotswold sheep, which at one time provided wool for over half of England's cloth) is published several times through the year and lists all the guided walks available.
