New life has been breathed into 2.5 acres of wasteland adjacent to Bourton-on-the-Water’s Birdland Park & Gardens. Once a dumping ground for local builders, this previous eyesore has been turned into a nature trail, a haven for wildlife and now home to more than 50 species of birds.
The Reserve now has 500m of level pathways to allow easy access for wheelchairs and there are three hides where visitors can watch various wildlife in a completely natural habitat. The Nature Reserve also includes two ponds with a pond dipping area, which will be used for schools or on special designated days throughout the school holidays
Since construction started Marshmouth Nature Reserve has attracted various wildlife, with almost 50 different bird sightings recorded along with a few families of rabbits, foes and mice.
We feel we have created a little oasis here, so please take your time, bring a picnic if you wish and we hope you enjoy your visit!”
