Mamadou is a musical emissary in the true Manding (peoples inhabiting a large area of the upper Niger Valley of western Africa) tradition, He has inherited the Griot tradition (a storyteller in western Africa who perpetuates the oral tradition and history of a vllage or family) from his mother's family who have provided musuc to the area for many years. Mamadou specialises in playing the 22 stringed African Harp - The Kora, combining Mandinkan songs with haunting melodies, imploring praise, witty proverbs and delicate lyricism.

If you are driving, Gloucester may be reached from junctions 11, 11A and 12 of the M5 and is signposted from junction 15 on the M4. It is on the A38, A40 and A417. Follow the signs to city centre.
