Nature in Art will be running a series of children activities throughout the holidays, each activity is two hours long with sessions running in the morning and afternoon. Each activity is charged at £5 per child, must be pre booked. To book please call 01452 731422 for a booking form.

1st June - Porcelain Photo Frame – Any age Decorate with porcelain paints and transfers.

2nd June - Wooden Wriggly Snake- Any age Decorate a 50 cm long snake and when finished watch it bend and wriggle around, people may think its real!

3rd June - Still Life Drawing- Age 8+ Using specialist materials create a stunning life drawing that you will want to keep and display for years to come.

4th June - Fabulous Fathers- Any age Not too long till fathers day so come and create a key ring, pop up card and gift bad for “The world’s best dad”!

3rd August - Perfect Painting- Age 8+ Get the chance to build up your skills in painting, learn tips and tricks to create wonderful paintings.

4th August - Mad Hatters Hat- Any Age Decorate a concertina top hat with paints, pen and foam. It measures 32 cm high so be sure to look as mad as a hatter in it.

5th August - Terracotta Pot Painting- Any age- Use specialist paints to decorate a pot however you want, collect it at the end of the holidays and we will have varnished it for you, so you can put plants in it and leave it outside.

6th August - Reusable Shopping Bag- Any age- Decorate this reusable shopping bag using fabric paints and pens. Lets create something stylish to use and help save the planet in the process.

7th August - Marvellous Masks- Any age- Decorate these masks and turn yourself into whatever you want just let your imagination run wild!

11th August - Clay- Any Age A popular activity back again! We’ve created everything from dragons to lions and pots and bowls. Learn the techniques to create something equally as amazing!

12th August - Butterfly Wings- Any age, Decorate using paints, sequins and other materials then put them on and with a wing span of 60cm you will certainly turn into a butterfly.

13th August - Design a doll- Any age- A plain fabric doll to create your own character, decorate with paints and pens and attach fabric for clothes and hair.

19th August - Above, Beneath and Beyond- Age 6+- Have a look at our exhibition and then create a piece of art inspired by the exhibition.

20th August - Wire Flower Sculpture- Age 6+- Create a wire flower and use acrylic resin to create beautiful petals.

25th August - Print Making- Age 6+- Look at different artists who use printmaking then learn the techniques to create your own.

26 August - Glass Painting Cards- Any age Use glass paints on acetate and turn these into fabulous cards!

  • All Areas Accessible to Disabled Visitors - There is ramped access for wheelchair users. Inside there is a lift and level or ramped access to the garden, art studios etc and wheelchair users toilets. Please note that the lift may not be able to accommodate some wheelchairs and the toilets may not be suitable for all wheelchair users. The museum has two wheelchairs for free loan to visitors who might need them (booking in advance is recommended). The museum has a half mile drive. If you cannot manage the walk call 01452 733946 and we will arrange a free lift. Please note the lift and toilets for disabled may not be suitable for all wheelchairs Guide dogs for the blind and deaf are welcome

  • On-Site café/restaurant - The museum has a licensed coffee shop serving hot and cold meals, snacks, cream teas etc in a delightful setting overlooking the gardens. It is open during museum hours to both the general public and museum visitors. Tables can be booked in advance. The coffee shop also is available for private hire in the evenings.
