What's On

Our Cotswolds events really are something to be proud of. You can find so much here, from chasing a Double Gloucester cheese down a hill, to a tiny village fete opened by an international celebrity. A little research into what's on while you're here will reveal an intriguing programme of year round events and festivals.

Sport is a big subject here, with top level sides such as Gloucestershire County Cricket, Gloucester Rugby Club and a string of equestrian activity that includes horse trials at Blenheim and Badminton and Cheltenham Racecourse. In addition the area is brought to life by hundreds of village events and happenings. Some are remarkable - only in the Cotswolds would you find Woolsack Racing, Shin Kicking and Cheese Rolling.

Giffords Circus 2012

Giffords Circus was started in 2000 by Nell and Toti Gifford. They wanted to create a small traditional circus company that would bring the magic of circus back to British audiences. Since then they have been touring with a troupe of performance artists, musicians, horses and wagons producing unique circus shows, loved by all the family, young and old. In 2012 Giffords Circus presents The Saturday Book; a witty collection of vignettes, tableaus, stories and paintings – perfect for a summer evenings’ entertainment in the Cotswolds.
Giffords Circus will visit Gloucester, Cheltenham, Newbury, Sunningwell, Broadway, Tackley, Stadhampton, Lechlade, Barrington, Frampton on Severn, Minchinhampton, Marlborough and Cirencester – find out more on the Giffords Circus website.

The winners of the Cotswold Tourism Awards are events that must be visited. The Times Cheltenham Science Festival, Tewkesbury Food & Drink Festival, Stroud International Textile Festival and Winchcombe Walking Festival are our award winners for 2010 - why not visit them in 2012?
