A traditional coaching inn right in the heart of Cirencester, with a history that goes way back to 1651 when King Charles II hid from Cromwell’s troops in the building, The Fleece is a great base to explore the Cotswolds.
A complete re-development in 2011 brought this old favourite in to the modern day, whilst retaining all the charm and character of the building, including the real log fires. For the summer months al fresco dining in the sheltered courtyard is a must do. Well behaved dogs and children are welcome.
Food is local and seasonal, with the emphasis on quality and value throughout. Open from early till late, with friendly relaxed service, it’s a great place to meet friends or just relax with the papers and a cup of fine coffee. Choose from the cosy bar or the more relaxed dining room – it’s the same menu throughout with daily specials too.
Enjoy a pint of Thwaites award-winning cask ales – plus guest beers and seasonal ales are on offer. Look out for the flights of ale – a choice of three 1/3rd pints so you can sample the beers and choose a favourite – or two. There’s an extensive wine by the glass selection and a good value wine list to select from too.
Guest rooms are cosy and comfortable, with lots of original features and there’s free WiFi throughout.
The Fleece is one of Thwaites Inns of Character, a small, but growing collection of inns - all with their own style and charm, but united by a common desire to deliver exceptional hospitality to their guests
