The couple behind Cotswold favourite The Ebrington Arms bought The Killingworth Castle in 2012 when it was closed and have since transformed it into Oxfordshire’s top destination pub with rooms. The country pub, once frequented by Winston Churchill himself, is now firmly on the map for foodies and tourists flocking to Blenheim Palace.
The eight stylish boutique rooms are in the adjoining stable block near the beer garden so ensure the best of both worlds with a buzzy pub when you want it but quiet luxury next door for proper rest and relaxation.
All rooms are individually designed with the personal touch. All contain original artworks and hand crafted oak beds and luxurious soft furnishings and hand picked antique furniture. Many have roll top baths, sofas and the odd bit of taxidermy. Two are dog friendly.
The Killingworth Castle is in the perfect spot to explore the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, being just a stones throw away from Blenheim Palace and Woodstock and only a few miles outside of Oxford and Bicester Village if you fancy a spot of culture or shopping.
So whether you’re after a romantic weekend, midweek stopover or somewhere luxurious to rest your head with food as a key driver, The Killingworth Castle has it all.
People flock to The Killingworth Castle for its award-winning organic menus. The pub has 2 AA rosettes for food and in 2019 was awarded 3 stars from the Soil Association for a commitment to organic food on the menu. It’s also a previous winner of the Oxford Mail’s Restaurant and Pub of the Year awards. The sustainable focus runs through the whole business, from the wine list the pub’s own Yubby beers and organic suppliers and bedroom toiletries.
The bar and dining areas are a fun mixture of farmers, MPs and the odd celebrity but it’s the regular friendly locals that create the atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
We are open all day every day and look forward to welcoming you.
