Tucked away down a meandering drive at the head of the Golden Valley, Westley Farm is one of the Cotswolds’ best-kept secrets. Five self-catering, pet-friendly cottages, each with its own quirky charm, hidden on a 70-acre farm, surrounded by ancient woodland, rolling meadows and unrivalled views.
Our cottages have one, two or three bedrooms, flagstone floors, fully-equipped kitchens, sheepskin rugs, Cotswold stone walls, wood-burning stoves or open fires – all the traditional things – as well as a few mod cons, from 4G and free wifi to Freeview digital TV. Dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome too.
Our largest cottage, Hornstone, sleeps seven and is set in a meadow on the edge of ancient woodland. It has a walled garden and deck at the rear offering stunning views of the valley.
Cockshutt Cottage sleeps four on one floor and has a flower garden to one side and rolling hills to the other.
At the very end of the winding farm track, on the edge of a meadow under spreading oak and ash, Jackdaw Cottage is the ultimate romantic hideaway.
Finally there are two cottages in a converted barn in the farmyard: Tullet Cottage sleeps four and is set on two floors, while the Hay Loft sleeps two in a double bedroom and has a balcony overlooking the valley.
There’s lots to do on the farm, from pony rides to exploring the woods, but if you want to venture out we’re close to the Cotswold gems, as well as the foodie heaven of Stroud and the Roman market town of Cirencester. There’s golf, waterparks, castles, gliding and even a local circus on the doorstep.
But you might want to stay put and watch for the kestrels, buzzards, owls, badgers, foxes and deer, as well as the sheep and cattle that graze the fields.
Please note there is a minium three night stay in our cottages.
