The 18th century building, which originally opened in 1715 is the latest addition to The Lucky Onion and has been cleverly renovated by Dowdeswell Estates in order to retain the pub’s distinctive features while also adding signature design flourishes to bring The Crown up to date. Living up to its name, The Crown is best known as HRH Princess Anne’s local and a stone’s throw from Gatcombe Park, so guests might find themselves rubbing shoulders with royalty around the wood-burning stove.
The Crown will be the perfect place to enjoy delicious dishes and locally sourced produce that you come to expect from The Lucky Onion’s Executive Chef, Ronnie Bonetti. The understated yet classic British menu at The Crown highlights the very best quality ingredients including a variety of cuts of beautiful and well-aged meat cooked up on the grill.
If you would just like to linger by the fireside with a drink, there’s plenty of real ale and outstanding wine, as well as live music from regular local artists. And when summer returns, guests can while away the hours in the secluded terrace garden.
Owned and run by Jade and Julian Dunkerton, The Lucky Onion is a family of boutique hotels and elegant country pubs in the heart of the Cotswolds, England.
