Originally built as a coaching inn in 1748, this Grade II listed free house is located in Long Compton in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with tales of witches and a prehistoric stone circle, the Rollright Stones.
The Red Lion has seen many changes over the years, yet still retains the charm and character of a classic Cotswold country pub. Lisa, Sarah, Cocoa (the resident chocolate lab) and their team have successfully created a unique ambience with a smart, contemporary feel.
The Red Lion are proud to offer a variety of delicious, freshly prepared dishes using locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible. Menus change seasonally to make the most of local produce and there is also a daily blackboard of specials.
Whether you choose to eat in the bar with its charming high-backed settles and open fireplace, or in the stylish adjoining restaurant, The Red Lion offers everything from light bites and sandwiches to hearty evening meals.
On sunnier days you may even wish to make the most of the beautiful beer garden which has a lovely wooden play area for children.
Dogs are always welcome to The Red Lion and will not be left out on the foodie stakes, with the home-cooked pigs a sure bet to set tails wagging!
