About
The Red Lion at Northmoor was purchased by the local community in 2014 and has been run by tenants Ian and Lisa Neale ever since. In 2019, the addition of three en-suite shepherd's huts were installed to be able to offer bed and breakfast in this beautiful loaction, close to The Thames Pathway.
All of the huts are en-suite, fully insulated with log burners and include all mod cons to keep you cosy and comfortable whatever time of the year you visit. The Red Lion pub is full of character and charm with beemed ceilings, log fires, cosy furnishings and friendly locals. The beer garden is quiet and peaceful with benches set amongst the trees, perfect for relaxing in the summer and a vegetable patch which provides fresh fruit and vegetables for thier menus.
Run by a small, friendly team, The Red Lion has won numerous awards for it's food and drinks offerings, the most recent being 'Best Destination Pub' in Oxon & Bucks at the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2022.
The food served at The Red Lion is all made from sctrach using fresh, home grown and seasonal produce with daily baked bread and meat sourced from local farms. The menu is a combination of good old pub classics plus seasonal specials. On the bar you'll find a variety of locally produced ales, lagers and gins, delicious wines and a blackboard with their 'Wines of The Month' plus fresh eggs for sale from thier free-ranging hens.
The Red Lion is a family friendly pub with a good children's menu which includes free ice cream and not forgetting your furry four-legged friends who are also welcome too (doggie treats available on the bar!).
