New High For Adrenaline Junkies

Fly Up Down Hill

Opening to the public on Monday 14th March 2016, the 417 Project is the biggest privately owned mountain bike facility in the country offering a variety of riding disciplines - all within one venue.

The brainchild of husband and wife team Angela and Simon Ruskin, directors of FlyUp Ltd, who have, finally, been able to turn their dreams to reality. The 100 acres of land will be home to:

  • Three downhill tracks from blue to red/ black grade, supported by the slick FlyUp uplift service people have come to know and love.
  • A national level 4X track and Dual Slalom run: serviced by the country’s first MTB Drag Lift.
  • An Airbag
  • Free-ride area
  • One-acre Dirt Jump Arena
  • Indoor Pump Track
  • Indoor Dirt Jumps

There will also be a café; serving locally sourced, home cooked food; a bike shop and workshop.

Suitable for everyone, the 417 Project promises to provide miles of smiles for cyclists old, young, male, female, beginner and professional. The Project will allow visitors to try cycling disciplines they may never have come across, and the staff will support visitors every step of the way! There will be regular sessions available to learn how to develop riding skills as well as having children-specific cycle development programmes. We will have coaching and tuition from widely respected instructors, and access to state of the art cycling equipment.

The facility is passionate about becoming a venue for education, conservation and ecology, allowing local schools and colleges access to the grounds for assignments and learning opportunities. The Project will house a learning centre, and will be involved in community and education projects once a week.
