The Fleece Inn (National Trust) Wins Best Pub of the Year in the VisitEngland Awards

The Fleece Inn (National Trust) The Fleece Inn VisitEngland Award Winners

Last week, Visit England named The Fleece Inn at Bretforton as 'Tourism Pub of the Year' in its Excellence Awards.

Amid competition from four other shortlisted pubs from across England, Worcestershire’s The Fleece Inn won Gold, with it's many delights, including good food, local ales, and traditional entertainment wowing the judging panel on their mystery visits.

The Visit England judges cited its contribution to the local community and the impact on the local tourism economy to distinguish National Trust owned The Fleece from the other finalists.

The Fleece Inn’s landlord Nigel Smith accepted the Award at the ceremony in Blackpool, joined on the stage by members of The Fleece’s winning team.  He comments: “We work really hard to give visitors to the pub a welcoming, historic and all round enjoyable experience.  The Fleece has a wonderful and rich history, and a stunning location in beautiful rural Worcestershire – I owe it to the pub and all the landlords that have gone before me to keep this quintessentially English atmosphere and offering going strong.  Thanks must go to the entire team at The Fleece.  They do an amazing job every day, and this and our other 2 recent awards are testament to this.”
