About
Welcome to Cotswold Mountain Biking where my aim is to share my passion for off-road cycling in this stunning part of the Cotswolds!
My name is Tim Porter and I’ll be guiding you on some of the best wild trails in the area without having to go ‘into the wilds’. And don’t worry if you haven’t got your own mountain bike as you can hire one from me - you could even try an electric mountain bike which will ensure you fly up the hills as well as down.
My guided rides are offered as private rides for adults and/or teenage children (age 13 years or above). The maximum group size is 5 riders.
Starting from my home, the rides will typically be half day ‘round routes’ that take about 3.5 hours. The ride times are set out as either morning (9.30 am to 1.00 pm) or afternoon (2.00 pm to 5.30 pm) but if you’d like something different please contact me and I’ll be pleased to tailor a ride to your requirements.
A typical route is 25-30 km with approx 600-800 m of ascent (and descent!) although I’ll adjust the route for the weather, the trail conditions and your riding experience to ensure that everyone in the group enjoys their time out as well as getting a sense of achievement.
We’ll start by covering bike checks, ride safety and trail etiquette before we head off on a network of ‘natural’ trails and some minor roads. During the ride, we’ll have several rest, snack and photo stops so make sure your camera is charged to capture the big views.
Please note that the routes include some rough terrain and some challenging climbs so are best suited to cyclists who have a good level of riding fitness. For those preferring some assistance up the hills, I have two electric mountain bikes for hire which will make the climbs a breeze!
