About
Do you have the skills to survive in the wild? Join Forest of Dean Adventure’s unforgettable four-hour Bushcraft Experience in the magical ancient woodland called Puzzlewood, near Coleford in the heart of the Forest of Dean, and you’ll learn essentials such as how to light a fire using a variety of techniques and materials, and how to make different types of shelter. Safe use of bushcraft knives will also be demonstrated and practised under supervision.
Led by an expert instructor, the course accommodates up to eight people, is designed to encourage cooperation between participants, and it’s great fun, too. The ultimate challenge for the group is to make a fire on which to cook your own lunch and make a hot drink.
Courses can be arranged for greater numbers, with one instructor per eight participants. The course generally runs from 10am-2pm but timings can be flexible.
Puzzlewood is one of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley’s leading tourist destinations and is a popular movie and TV location that has been used in films including Star Wars, Merlin and Doctor Who.
Forest of Dean Adventure is the only company allowed to operate bushcraft within Puzzlewood, a magical location well known for its film and TV connections. The experience will go ahead even if there is filming on site.
