Filkins and Broughton Poggs - you may go looking for two villages but you’ll only find one - and a beautiful one it is. The enchanting stone houses, several with the characteristic slab fencing, and Cotswold Woollen Weavers, an 18th century wool mill and rare Cotswold stonemasons, are guaranteed to charm the discerning visitor.
Housed in a 17th century cottage is the wonderful Swinford Museum - open on the first Sunday of the month from May to September (2.30-5pm). One of Oxfordshire's oldest local museums, it was set up by George Swinford in the 1930s.
Filkins Village Shop is owned and run by the local community and sells local meats, cheeses and honey - as well as membership to the swimming pool next door!
