Our internationally renowned, award winning Museum is the place to discover the amazing archaeology of the Cotswolds. Many of the spectacular treasures on display are from Roman Cirencester, known as Corinium, Roman Britain’s second largest city. These create an unparalleled location for your event.

 

Exclusive and Elegant Entertaining

The Museum’s iconic Hare Mosaic provides the backdrop to an expansive and atmospheric gallery which can be hired out for exclusive entertaining when the museum is closed to the public. With a graceful view of the Roman Garden to one side this spacious area provides a unique space for entertaining clients and employees alike. With a capacity of 100 people standing or 50 seated, the area can be laid out to suit your specific requirements.

As the museum will be closed to the public for your event, the rest of Museum and its Galleries are open exclusively to your guests. In addition to the extensive Roman collections, the museum also houses Prehistoric, Anglo Saxon, Medieval, Tudor, Civil War and local 18th and 19th Century artefacts.

 

Meetings, Team Building, Lectures and Seminars

The museum boasts a fully equipped and easily accessible Lecture Theatre on the ground floor that can accommodate up to 72 people. Specially installed retractable tiered seating enables quick conversion of the space from lecture theatre to a large meeting room.

There is cloakroom storage, toilet facilities and a kitchen adjacent to the lecture theatre providing exclusive facilities for your event.

The full multi-media suite in the Lecture Theatre is all controlled from a central control panel and provides the following:

The new Winstone Learning Centre offers a dedicated space for understanding and interacting with our heritage and over 200,000 years of archaeology. Suitable for meetings and social events.
