The story of Sleeping Beauty with a contemporary twist   17 November 2023 - 1 January 2024

Explore the Palace rooms transformed by the retelling of this classic fairy-tale for a new generation, from the Great Hall filled by a huge glistening Christmas tree to the candle-lit bedchamber where Aurora sleeps, watched over by the Lilac Fairy. Wander through the evil fairy’s lair filled with toads, potions and menacing crows, then onto the busy castle kitchen frozen in time. Along the way watch out for spinning wheels, fluttering fairies and as the story unfolds, vines creeping everywhere. Looking for a happy-ever-after, the Lilac Fairy helps True Love to find a way through the woods and together they reawaken the castle after 100 very sleepy years….

Alongside the Palace rooms you’ll be able to grab a festive bite in the East Courtyard, experience the splendour of the Christmas Lights Trail and browse the Christmas Market in the Great Court.

The Chelteham Ice Rink  17 November 2023 to 1 January 2024

The perfect Christmas treat for all the family. Pirates of the Caribbean meets Fishermen’s Friends.

The production is recommended for 4+ so its fun for all the family this holiday season!

Christmas Through The Ages  1 December 2023 - 7 January 2024 (Closed 24 & 25 December)

Dyrham Park

Step back in time this season at Dyrham Park and take a journey to Christmas through the ages. The house will be dressed in the style of five different eras, from Tudor times right up until the 20th century. Festive writings by the likes of Samuel Pepys, Jane Austen and Charles Dickens will be brought to life.

Outside, families can track down giant wooden presents in a discovery trail dotted around the 270 acre site, whilst the poetry trail will take adults through the quiet terraces offering an opportunity to reflect in a peaceful setting.

Discover the ’12 Days of Christmas’ as you wander through the garden. While our willow deer have done a grand job, they need your help to properly bring the story to life. Can you dance, hula hoop, and drum your way through the festive season? Trail included in the admission price.

There’s sessions to suit everyone; For the First Time in Forever you can meet Elsa and Anna on the ice at a Snow Princess session, enjoy a relaxed skate at a sensory session designed for those who prefer a quieter experience, and even have the ice all to yourself at a private hire session. There is fun for all the family this festive season, even though your four-legged family members aren’t invited onto the ice, they are welcome to cheer you on from the side lines and enjoy the food and drink areas with you.

This year’s Christmas Fairytale event at Fairytale Farm, near Chipping Norton, will be bigger and better than ever before, with a whole new area featuring a range of new festive experiences. All the best elements from previous years will remain, such as the cosy and atmospheric Grotto, the Castle walk-through and spectacular Christmas illuminations.
