About
Our exclusive Afternoon Tea package offers you a unique glimpse into life in a 19th-century House of Correction. As you enjoy a refreshing cup of freshly brewed tea or coffee (soft drink options available for children), you can indulge in a fine selection of open sandwiches, freshly baked fruit scones with clotted cream & local strawberry preserve, and a mouth-watering range of homemade cakes and sweat treats. Why not add a glass of Prosecco for some extra sparkle to mark the occasion?
What better way to indulge in an afternoon of history than by sipping English Tea with friends or family in a 19th century prison?

A selection of freshly made Open Sandwiches:
Upton Smoked Trout on Rye Bread, Lemon Crème Fraiche and Pickled Red Onion

For the ultimate Prison experience, you are then invited to explore the original female prison cells built in 1844 and visit the historic Court Room which was used right up until the 1970’s. Beyond the location of the shepherd’s huts in the Exercise Yard, an original but now disused Farrier’s workshop is surrounded by the Lloyd-Baker Rural Life Collection – a nationally important display of historic agricultural and farming machinery from the era of horsepower.
