Discover the Cotswold Lakes
Cotswold Lakes is a stunning wetland landscape in the heart of the Cotswolds, featuring over 180 lakes spread across 42 square miles. Recognised as a haven for wildlife, it offers a unique natural setting for a wide range of visitors to enjoy, from nature lovers and birdwatchers to sports enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat.
Discover Nature…
Cotswold Lakes is one of the most biodiverse landscapes in the UK with most of the lakes now designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest for their national importance for breeding birds, wintering birds and aquatic plants. With tens of thousands of water birds feeding on the lakes in winter, there is something to see all year round.
Explore the nature reserves and the grassland sites, such as North Meadow NNR (famous for Snakes-head Fritillary) and Clattinger Farm (a traditional wildflower meadow).
The River Thames and its tributaries also run through the Cotswold Lakes supporting thriving populations of Water Vole, Otter and Kingfisher.
Discover Tranquillity…
Whether relaxing by the lakes, indulging in a luxury spa, catching a fish or two, or simply soaking in the natural beauty, Cotswold Lakes offers a peaceful retreat from the everyday hustle.
There are miles of off-road walking and cycling routes and peaceful lakeside walks and picnic spots. It is a great place to come in the colder months too with vast skies and superb sunsets.
Discover Adventure…
From water sports, archery, high ropes and paintballing to rally experiences and nature walks, the lakes offer thrilling, hands-on ways to explore the great outdoors.
Try kayaking, paddleboarding, waterskiing, wakeboarding, organised open water swimming and more or enjoy a fun family day at Cotswold Country Park & Beach with its inland sandy beach, playgrounds, AquaVenture, boat hire and mini golf.
