The Bear of Rodborough offers the choice of a relaxed bite to eat or fine dining in a beautiful countryside setting. Perched on top of Rodborough Common, surrounded by 300 acres of National Trust land, this 17th century former coaching inn is loved by staying guests and locals alike – including four-legged friends who are more than welcome to join you in the bar areas.
In the cosy, country Bar there is a large selection of local beers and ales available along with wines from around the globe and of course plenty of spirits. Find a spot to relax in the hidden lounge areas or enjoy the hustle and bustle of the main bar area – the choice is yours. If you’re looking to perch outside after a walk over the common, or just want to enjoy the summer sunshine you can even enjoy a drink and bite to eat outside in our NEW Pavilion Bar and terrace. The bar menu is full of family favourites from handmade scotch eggs, hot dogs and pizza to a selection of salads, sandwiches and more... there are even slush puppies for grown-ups!
For a more refined dining experience, head to the Library Restaurant, which has fantastic views, elegant décor and AA Rosette-awarded cuisine. Our Head Chef works hard to create a modern British menu that makes the most of fresh, local produce wherever possible and in season.
What’s more, if you can’t tear yourself away from The Bear after your meal, you can stay the night in one of their 46 individually designed bedrooms.
