Nestled between Bourton-on-the-Water and Chedworth in the valley of the River Leach, 

The Old Prison Kitchen & Café serves artisan coffees, brunch classics, homemade cakes, lunchtime specials and afternoon teas, all made with locally sourced ingredients. Complementary access is available to the original Prison Cells and Court Room and the fully enclosed garden with outdoor seating houses the Lloyd Baker wagon collection for all to enjoy. 

Built in the 1790's, it was once a fine example of a model prison used to inspire better care and rehabilitation of prisoners throughout Britain and further afield.  It even served as a blueprint for London's Pentonville Prison.  

The outdoor exercise yard now boasts a large grassed area for all to enjoy with a soon to be installed robust, safe and engaging wooden 'trim trail' play area that complements the surroundings and encourages younger children to play in the safety of an enclosed, yet historically inspiring, space.

Along with an original cider press dating from 1770, the Lloyd-Baker Rural Life Collection of Historical Wagons is also housed within the outdoor space and offers a wonderful display of historic agricultural and farming machinery from the era of 'horse power'.

Meanwhile the original courtroom that used to accommodate petty sessional court events and the cells that housed inmates prior to trial are available for customers to view free of charge.
