About
The Carpenters Arms in Fulbrook has been run by trio Siobhan & Tom Addy, and Ryan Humphrey since March 2019. Situated 5 minutes' walk away from Burford in the village of Fulbrook, the trio have created a warm, welcoming home from home that offers a haven for both locals and tourists alike. Having learnt their skills within five star hotels, bars and restaurants, this is their first pub venture together.
The 18th Century building features several drinking and dining spaces with an inglenook fireplace and exposed beams oozing with Cotswolds charm. There is a large open air beer garden as well as a covered outside dining space and children’s play area, making it a perfect location for relaxing after a day at the Cotswold Wildlife Park. The pub has a large off-road car park as well as disabled parking.
Tom's cooking is Modern British in style with a slight Asian twist. The menus showcase his classic training with dishes featuring the best produce available, sourced as locally as possible. Classic dishes such as a homemade beef burger and sandwiches will always feature on the menu, while dishes like Scallop ceviche, fermented radish, ponzu jelly; Beef tartare, mooli, confit egg yolk; Roasted monk fish, charred baby gem, ham hock, pea & mint veloute; and cinnamon poached apricots, pistachio & olive oil cake, coconut ice cream; change with the seasons.
The trio regularly host tasting menu evenings (see website for details), and offer moules frites weekly throughout the winter months, along with a chargrill menu every Thursday, featuring whole fish, chops and steaks served year-round.
The drinks offering consists of local beers, wines and spirits, alongside a succinct list of homemade cocktails.
