About

The Burford Tolsey Museum & Archive is housed in the early Tudor market building.

Within the museum is a wide ranging collection which illustrates Burford's social and working culture, including the town maces, seals and charters.

Exhibits quaintly recall the trades that flourished here - quarrying, bell-founding, rope-making, brewing, farming, leather-working and clarinet-making.

There is also a famous doll's house, furnished in style of the Jane Austen period.

The Burford Tolsey Museum and Archive also has a large photographic collection, a sample of which is on display in the museum.
