The Lion Inn started life as a coaching inn in the 15th Century.  Over the years it has gone through many changes and played an important role in the village and surrounding areas; providing food, drink and accommodation for both people and horses, in a variety of guises.

Today, The Lion has a welcoming yet stylish interior with bar, snug, restaurant, garden (ideal for alfresco dining), eight double en-suite bedrooms including a suite with its own entrance. All have extremely comfortable beds, their own individual character and ambiance and have been accredited with 4 AA stars in 2016 & 2017.

Dining at The Lion Inn is a relaxed affair with deliciously tempting food, an imaginative wine list and friendly staff. Our chef’s source seasonal ingredients from the best suppliers in the area and our menus are based on what is fresh and available and change frequently. It’s this dedication to great British ingredients that has earned us an AA Rosette. Our constantly changing menu can also be enjoyed al-fresco in our large, sunny well-stocked garden. Our private dining 'Clubroom' is a light and airy room full of individual character and charm. Seating up to 20 guests at one table, this room is ideal for dinners, weddings, and parties.

Our eight bedrooms offer a place of complete tranquillity. They are big, comfy and television-free, so you can easily disconnect and unwind. Nature plays a big role here with natural fabrics, fresh flowers and handmade Bramley toiletries packed with rich and rejuvenating natural ingredients included in every room. Dogs are very welcome in all bedrooms and our bar & snug too.

The Lion Inn is an ideal base from which to explore some of the most beautiful locations in the Cotswolds.  We have stunning countryside, beautiful walks and cycle routes, open gardens, festivals, country fetes, races, vintage car hill climbs, local cider, perry and beers, pick your own fruit, and fields of Cotswold lavender.
