Tetbury Goods Shed is a thriving, creative Arts Centre set in a recently renovated Victorian railway building that lies in park land just a few minutes walk from Tetbury town centre.
Covid-19 update: Our lovely Whistle Stop Cafe is open as a takeaway. The Arts Centre is currently closed, planning to reopen as soon as performances are allowed.
With a stunning high vaulted ceiling, you can enjoy live music, theatre, cinema nights and workshops in a beautifully restored historical setting. It features a fascinating free heritage display and video featuring local people recalling the railway in Tetbury and its importance to the town, as well as a discovery trail for children.
Thanks to the kind generosity of local donors, the Shed has a wonderful Steinway grand piano, retractable, comfortable 182 seating system with access for wheelchair users, a six metre wide cinema screen, Dolby surround sound and theatre lighting to ensure each performance - whether comedy or classical, folk or film, jazz or jamboree is entertaining, memorable and fun.
The on site Whistle Stop Cafe welcomes all, walkers, dogwalkers and cyclists, on the Tetbury Trail and is usually open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10am until 4pm, currently restricted to a takeaway service at weekends from 4th July, 2020. We will reopen the Cafe as soon as restrictions end to give you the opportunity to enjoy a cuppa and a cake sat in our fabulous refurbished Finnish Railway Carriage or surrounded by the work of talented local artists in our gallery.
Although most of our performances have ticket prices, frequently changing art and photographic exhibitions in the main auditorium are free to enter. We are proud to feature a Wednesday afternoon Tea Concert with local musicians for little more than the cost of a coffee and cake and hope to bring this back as soon as we can.
