Donnington Brewery Experience
Donnington Brewery was founded by the Richard Arkell in 1865 on the site of a thirteenth century mill, it’s been in the same family ever since and describes itself, with some justification, as "the fairest brewery in all the land" - the water wheel continues to pump the brew liquor today.
The focus of the experience is a tour of the brew house by the master brewer to discover the mysteries of brewing traditional English ale. You will also love the journey there and back, exploring some of England’s finest countryside on powerful e-bikes so that you can enjoy the fresh air and savour the views.
A delicious pub lunch is served at “The Golden Ball”, one of Donnington’s long established Cotswold pubs in Lower Swell, before heading off to explore Upper and Lower Slaughter on scenic back roads.
The afternoon’s adventure is completed by a visit to the honeypot town of Bourton on the Water, before heading back to Kingham through more of the north Cotswolds spectacular scenery, arriving back around 4pm.
Cotswold Brew Co. Experience
For lager lovers, nothing quite compares with the passion for their business of Master Brewer, Richard Keene, and his wife Emma. Founded in 2005, Cotswold Brew Co’s enthusiastic team now brew a range premium quality, full-flavour lagers providing unique alternatives to the big brands that have swamped the market.
Commencing from Kingham at 10am, your day’s experience begins with a scenic e-bike ride through charming Cotswold villages, arriving at the Brewery around 11.30am for a private tour of the brewery and tasting, followed by lunch in Lower Slaughter – perhaps the most scenic village in the north Cotswolds. Following lunch, the afternoon’s adventure is completed by a visit to the honeypot town of Bourton on the Water, before heading back to Kingham through more of the north Cotswolds spectacular scenery, arriving back around 4pm.
To complete the day, you will receive a souvenir gift pack. Other items are available for purchase from the brewery.
