Combe Mill

Combe Mill was once the saw mill of Blenheim Estate and also the workshop and blacksmiths’ forge. Now, run by friendly and knowledgeable volunteers, the mill offers a charming glimpse into a byegone age.

Its rare Thomas Piggott beam engine and waterwheel have been preserved and can be seen in action (on steam days) driving original woodworking machinery via line shafting and belts.

The upstairs pattern shop also houses collections of various trade and craftsmen’s tools which are used for demonstrations.  A working collection of historic tower clocks is also here.

In the riverside picnic area visitors can enjoy refreshments and the tranquillity of the river Evenlode.

Open: Wednesdays and 3rd Sunday of the month from 10.30am to 4.30pm (10am to 5pm on event days) from April to October.

The Mill will be in steam on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
