Long Hanborough is a large village with an attractive mixture of thatched, stone, slate and tile roofed cottages. Lying between Witney and Woodstock, the village station provides easy access to Oxford on the Cotswold Line. Thiis village has three pubs in the area, a village shop and three churches.
The oldest church is St Peter & St Paul Church with its octagonal limestone spire is visible from all around. Dating back to the 12th century, the church was internally remodelled in the 14th century. Its most treasured work is the Norman tympanum over the North door showing St Peter with his key, the lion of St Mark and a Lamb of God.
