Historic Cotswolds
Much of the Cotswolds we know today is shaped by its rich history and the wealth created by the wool trade centuries ago.
It’s left its beautiful mark on the landscape; fine manor houses lived in by the wool merchants, beautiful churches, impressive and imposing historic houses and gorgeous Cotswold stone market towns and villages.
Many remain to be enjoyed today including Sudeley and Berkeley castles, Blenheim Palace, Stanway House and a whole host of beautiful National Trust properties like Hidcote Manor, Snowshill Manor and Chastleton House.
Step back further in time and immerse yourself in the Cotswolds Neolithic, Bronze Age and Roman past including Cirencester – which was one of the first Roman administrative centres in the county –and the Roman villa remains at Chedworth.
