Morning excursion: Meeting at 9.30am at the Tudor Farmhouse, Clearwell, your trip starts with tea, coffee and croissants. Then in your own transport, you will looking for herbs, mushrooms and other plants.
At 1pm, you return to the hotel, where you will enjoy a three course lunch.
Afternoon excursion: This trip starts with lunch at 12.30pm, with foraging from 1.30pm; the excursion ends at 4.30pm.
Foraging trips without lunch can be arranged, as can shorter excursions.
Booking
Price: from £80 per person, includes guided foraging and a set three-course lunch at the Tudor Farmhouse Hotel.
Duration: 5 hours.
Capacity: Minimum of 6 people and maximum of 15 people.
Opening: Foraging can be done most of the year, but the best times are mid-March to mid-May and mid-September to mid-November. Autumn is particularly good for mushrooms.
Facilities
Language: Guests will need a basic knowledge of English to fully appreciate the experience. Flemish (Dutch), French, German, Portuguese are also available.
Parking: 25 parking spaces. Minibuses OK. Coaches would need to park outside the village hall close to the hotel.
Accessibility: A general level of fitness is required to enjoy the walk while foraging. It is not particularly strenuous however, with longer distances covered by car/minibus. The hotel is fully accessible for guests with disabilities, but the foraging itself relies on people being able to walk reasonable distances over rough terrain, and is therefore not suitable for people with mobility issues.
Special requirements: Waterproof clothing in the event of bad weather and walking boots or wellies are advised.
Weather: Foraging runs in most weathers and will only need to be postponed if an Amber or Red weather warning is in place.
