You might call it a country hotel; you might call it a village-style retreat; you might even call it the gateway to a world of outdoor adventure. Whichever; we call it The Fish Hotel – and we think you’re going to like it.
This is a new kind of country hotel. We’re affordable but not budget, stylish but not pretentious, and outdoorsy but just as happy to stay in and put our feet up by the fire. The Fish is your back-to-nature bolt-hole with a little touch of luxury.
Starting from just £150 a night, The Fish’s 63 contemporary country bedrooms are spread throughout three buildings – The Farmhouse, The Outhouse and The Stables.
Some of The Fish’s bedrooms are dog-friendly – just let us know if you’re packing a pooch and we’ll provide a bed, bowl, towel and treats. Dogs are welcome in the bar, but the restaurant is strictly humans-only.
The Fish Hotel has a relaxing bar with log fire, games rooms kitted out with pool and football table, beanbags, board games and TV.
Thanks to Hook, the Fish is at long last able to live up to its name, offering a menu of the finest, freshest responsibly sourced fish, sustainable shellfish and a few timeless classics from the land. Everything is prepared with the gourmet panache you’d expect from a chef with Martin’s credentials.
Set in 400-acres of private Cotswold Estate it would be a shame not to make the most of it. That't why at The Fish you can go on Segway safarie, explore on a all terrain vehicle, try your hand at Axe Throwing and Archery. There's plenty to do at The Fish.

From the north
If you’re coming from Birmingham way, exit the M5 at junction 6 and follow the A4538 towards Evesham. After two miles, turn onto the A44 southbound (signposted Evesham). After 10 miles, the A44 joins the A46 to bypass Evesham. Rejoin the A44 (Broadway Road) at the second roundabout (first exit, signposted Broadway), and follow the road beyond Broadway for around six miles. When you reach Fish Hill (the road will bend sharply left), look out for the entrance to Farncombe coming up on the left. Turn onto the estate road, and follow it, taking the left fork, until you reach The Fish.
From the south
If you’re up from that London, junction 8 on the M40 will put you onto the A40 towards Oxford and Cheltenham. Head past Oxford towards Woodstock and Evesham, and at the Headington roundabout take the third exit onto the North Way, then the fourth exit at Wolvercote roundabout onto the A44 (signposted Woodstock). The A44 will take you through Woodstock and Chipping Norton. When you reach Moreton-in-Marsh, turn left at the mini-roundabout onto Moreton High Street, then right onto the A44 at the next roundabout, following signs to Evesham and Broadway. After about seven miles, you’ll pass the turn-off for Broadway Tower on the left – the entrance to Farncombe is half a mile further on the right. Follow the road up, then take the left fork to The Fish.
Public Transport Directions
Moreton-in-Marsh station is about 15 minutes’ drive from us. The station’s on the mainline from London Paddington (around an hour and a half’s journey on First Great Western).
