Accessibility

With the government publishing the National Disability Strategy and the tourism recovery plan setting out the ambition for the UK to become the most accessible tourism destination in Europe by 2025, inclusive & accessible tourism makes good business sense, especially as research shows this customer group have a higher level of brand loyalty.

VisitBritain’s research before COVID-19, highlighted half a million British adults cited ‘lack of accessibility provision’ as the reason they did not take a domestic trip in the previous 12 months. If each person with an impairment took a domestic holiday, the value to the UK economy would be £116.7 million.

Cotswolds Tourism and our strategic partners are committed to supporting local economy businesses and members to improve your accessibility knowledge and skills, enabling you to learn more and give you confidence to make small changes in your business practices with the aim to increase your share of this important sector. By all working together, we can ensure the Cotswolds is welcoming to all visitors.

Accessible Features Forms

Visit England along with key stake holders have put together a survey that provide a national standard so visitors can easily compare and trust the information provided.

Filling out the Accessible Features Form helps businesses attract more visitors with accessibility needs by providing clear, reliable information that builds trust and confidence. It demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and compliance with the Equality Act 2010 while improving reputation and customer experience. The form also helps identify areas for improvement and ensures existing accessibility data is retained — if it isn’t completed, any current accessible features information will be lost.
