Cotswolds Plus LVEP Strategy

Strategic Aims

The strategic aims for Cotswolds Plus LVEP align with the criteria set out by Visit Britain/Visit England in the LVEP accreditation process. This also links to the government ambition and aims for tourism by 2030.

  • A stronger voice for the local visitor economy on the national stage: accredited LVEPs will be the official local destination partners of Visit Britain/Visit England, with the opportunity to help shape and deliver national strategy and priorities. In addition, the role of LVEPs will be promoted and understood across government and national agencies, ensuring the local visitor economy is an active and valued contributor.
  • To be a united voice in influencing national, regional and local strategies that impact on tourism and the visitor economy.
  • To identify common themes and issues relevant to the Partnership and explore solutions and agree joint actions where appropriate.
  • To promote the Partnership and secure resources to ensure its continuation and development.
  • To share information on activity across the partners and identify where collaboration could occur.
  • To develop new commercial income streams to diversify income across the Partnership.
  • To jointly commission and share research in order to inform the Partnership’s activities.
  • To approve, agree and deliver on agreed action plans that link to Visit England LVEP priorities.
  • To examine working practices to seek opportunity to streamline the services/benefits offered to businesses through membership schemes, by providing joint training initiatives, new membership packages (e.g. Travel Trade, MICE promotion), identifying areas where closer working would bring benefits and seeking to ensure a joined-up approach on destination management.

The LVEP has currently adopted Cotswolds Tourism’s Destination Management Plan, which all participating organisations were involved in the initial research and drafting. Longer term, subject to funding & local government reforms, a new destination management plan will be considered.

We will work closely with VisitEngland & other LVEPs, with ongoing support from our Regional Development Lead.
